Support for Ronald McDonald House Glasgow

The Charity has received fantastic support from Scotmid. The company have helped to brighten many of our 31 bedrooms by purchasing colourful Steven Brown artwork. This had been a long standing ambition for the Charity, however it can be hard to justify spending supporters money on art when there are everyday items to buy.

Scotmid stepped up and made the dream a reality. As a result our bedrooms now feel even more homely and welcoming.

Then Covid-19 happened…

The whole world and everyone in it suddenly had to take hygiene very seriously. The House needed to become as safe as possible as quickly as possible in order for the Charity to continue helping families in need. Scotmid were thankfully on hand to help when it mattered most. With an initial gift of £500 towards cleaning products, the House could be cleaned more regularly and with approved products. Scotmid then went one BIG step further and installed all of the protective screens in the House free of charge! There was a lot to do. The reception area, six cooking stations and dinning areas all needed separating using Perspex screens. The team were quick, professional and had our staff and the families health and safety in mind as they worked. We really can’t thank the whole Scotmid team enough.

Back Story

Ronald McDonald House Glasgow applied to the Scotmid Community Connect Fund in 2019 and were runners up! The Charity received a very welcome boost of £5,000, enabling the Charity to gift over 100 nights’ accommodation to families.
