With the world going virtual due to COVID-19, we asked our supporters to jump on their bikes and cycle either 2.5, 25 or 250 miles to celebrate our 25th Anniversary in our brand new event, Tour de Heart.
This 3-week event kicked off on the 26th of June and finished on the 18th of July, mirroring the Tour de France. More than 30 Ronald McDonald House Glasgow supporters took part, clocking up over 2,000 miles in total and feeling just like those professional cyclists!
Event success
The success of this event was down to the engagement and commitment of the participants. We are delighted to announce that their efforts raised more than £4,000 for the Charity! Our winners Donna and Graeme cycled around Millport as a family. They raised over £720 as a couple and £1,235 as a team – an amazing achievement! Our supporters racked up their miles in many locations, from France to Falkirk, and the leader board was soon heating up as the race was on to secure the top prize of a cycling jersey signed by Chris Froome, four-time Tour de France winner, as well as many other brilliant cycling prizes!
A huge thank you from us
We were blown away with the commitment, dedication, and generosity that prevailed during Tour de Heart. It is events such as these that generate income to keep the doors of the House open. To all our current cyclists and to those toying with the idea of jumping on a bike, we hope you can use Tour de Heart as your motivation to pedal with power for those families at Ronald McDonald House Glasgow.
