It’s our Birthday!
Twenty three years ago today we opened our Yorkhill House doors for the first time, to families with seriously ill children in the Royal Hospital for Sick Children. Our purpose built House provided the important ‘home away from home’ accommodation for these families for 19 years. In 2015 the children’s hospital moved – and so did we! Setting up the new House in Govan was no small feat but was vital in order to remain just a short walk from the new Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. Watch out for our second Birthday in June to celebrate the ‘new’ House!!
As a small independent Scottish charity, we have been so fortunate to receive generous donations from so many people over the years, you may well have been one of them. So on this special day, it is really our chance to say Thank You – we would never have been able to do this without you and we are only able to carry on thanks to your fantastic support. So take pride in this Birthday – you own it as much as we do.
