After the launch of Welcome Toiletry Packs way back in January 2019, we quickly ran low of some essentials.
These toiletry packs contain essentials, which a family may have forgotten as they arrive at the Hospital with their child. Simple things such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, deodorant and shaving kits. So, when we were clean out of shampoo, conditioner and deodorant, we weren’t in a good position!
In April we launched an appeal on Facebook asking for your help with supplying toiletries for these packs, and the response was greater than we could have imagined. We went from having totally run out of shampoo, conditioner and deodorant, to having more toiletries than could fit in our store cupboard! We now don’t have to worry about running out of anything for our toiletry packs any time soon.
Community groups, work places, hospital wards, families, individuals and even a whole village community took the call and ran with it to an incredible success. We want to thank everyone who donated some toiletries, and thank you to everyone who simply shared our Facebook post – so many more people heard about the House and what we provide for families – thanks to you!
We know that there is still more to come, so if you have yet to send any in, feel free to keep on donating. We’ll just need to find some new storage solutions!
