Ronald McDonald House Glasgow’s 25th Annual Sports Dinner!
Enjoy an evening of wit and banter at our annual Sports Dinner. We have a packed evening for you and your friends to enjoy, including a drinks reception, a tasty three course meal, top speakers with plenty of patter and some surprises along the way too.
Your host for the evening is John McKelvie!!
A very funny man with a particular penchant for the peculiarities of the past. John bases his after dinner speeches on the eventful, sometimes catastrophic, but always extremely hilarious anecdotes from his police career and sporting connections!
Frank McAvennie – charismatic Scottish former footballer and striker, committed to both West Ham and Celtic throughout his career, with a short stint in South China!!
George McNeill – having started out as a footballer, George soon turned his talent to sprinting. Creating a new professional world record for the 100m in 10.1 seconds in 1971, followed by a world professional sprint title in 1972! Football remains an important part of George’s life, being fitness coach for successful teams such as Hearts and Livingston. In 2003 George was given the honour of being inducted into the Scottish Sporting Hall of Fame and the National Museum.
